Speedy Plus applies double-sided tape automatically, in widths that the standard Speedy cannot take. Typical jobs are envelopes with adhesive strips, the back of point-of-sale window posters, and assisting the hand assembly of capacity pocket wallets. It is also used for the top flap closure of envelopes, shopping bags, e-commerce boxes, cardboard and other flat surfaces.

How wide a tape can Speedy Plus apply?

Speedy Plus applies double-sided tape from 6 to 50 mm wide. Each strip must be at least 30 mm long and start at least 5 mm from the sheet edge.

Should I choose Speedy Plus or Speedy?

Choose Speedy Plus when the tape is wider than 25 mm, up to 50 mm, and the standard Speedy when 6–25 mm is enough. Both are rated at up to 200 pieces per minute, so the choice depends on tape width and not on speed.

Speedy Plus is rated at up to 200 pieces per minute. The actual output depends on the format, the paper and how long the tape applications are.

How close can the tape strips be?

For two strips placed one behind the other in line, leave at least 30 mm between them. With two or more applicators working side by side, the parallel strips must be at least 120 mm apart.

Can Speedy Plus apply tape to posters?

Yes. Speedy Plus puts tape on the back of point-of-sale window posters, and the poster application page shows it with a Macari-Fidia Borea feeder: see double-sided tape for posters. For very light or delicate paper the Estream applicator is the alternative.

Can Speedy Plus be fitted to my existing machine?

Often yes. Speedy Plus can be positioned in several places on Macari-Fidia machines and on devices from other manufacturers. The check covers the space, the sheet transport, the controls and where the tape goes.

How much does a Speedy Plus cost?

Speedy Plus is quoted per project, because Macari-Fidia configures each applicator to the customer’s machine and no price is published.
