Contactless Double-Sided Tape Applicator for Glass
Macari-Fidia Estream applies 6–20 mm double-sided tape to glass without the cutting knife ever touching the panel, so thin or fragile glass is not at risk.
Tape Applicators
The Estream – Special Double Sided Tape Applicator is an innovative solution designed for the precise, automatic application of tape on delicate and lightweight materials. Unlike standard tape applicators, the Estream can apply double sided tape on ultra-thin or fragile papers without causing any curling or damage.
Its revolutionary contactless tape application technology completely eliminates the “banana effect” — the common problem where tape tension causes paper to warp or curl.
The Estream is the ideal choice for industries such as print finishing, packaging, and promotional products, where high-precision application on fragile surfaces is required. It ensures smooth, damage-free tape application with excellent consistency.
In today’s competitive world, fast and accurate tape application is essential. The Estream enhances production speed, reduces material waste, and preserves the integrity of delicate surfaces.
Easy to Integrate:
The Estream is compatible with various existing systems, making it easy to implement in any production environment — whether you’re running large batches or small custom jobs.

Estream is made by Macari-Fidia (Macari S.r.l.), based in Ciriè near Turin, Italy. The company was founded in 1990 and supplies customers in over 30 countries.
Estream cuts the double-sided tape before it places it, so no tension builds up in the sheet. This avoids the “banana effect”, the curl that tape tension can cause in thin paper.
Estream is designed for lightweight, thin and delicate paper, and for nearly all paper weights. Typical jobs are envelope flap closures, posters and point-of-sale sheets, packaging such as e-commerce boxes and fine cardboard, and special envelopes. It also applies tape to glass panels.
Estream applies double-sided tape from 6 to 20 mm wide, in strips at least 30 mm long and at least 5 mm from the sheet edge. Strips must be at least 30 mm apart, and at least 120 mm apart when several applicators work in parallel.
Estream is rated at up to 200 pieces per minute, depending on the format, the paper and the tape length. For glass panels, the glass application page explains what the speed depends on.
Choose Estream for thin or delicate paper that could curl under tape tension, and Speedy for standard stock. Estream applies tape up to 20 mm wide, Speedy up to 25 mm and Speedy Plus up to 50 mm; all three are rated at up to 200 pieces per minute.
Often yes. Estream is compatible with various existing systems. Macari-Fidia first assesses the sheet or panel size and thickness, the tape position, how the product is supported and the required speed.
Estream is quoted per project, because the price depends on how each machine is configured to the customer’s requirements; no price is published. To get a quotation, send your sample, the tape width, length and position, the sheet or panel size and material, your production target and details of any existing line to [email protected] or use the contact form.
Macari-Fidia provides consulting, installation, start-up and staff training on site on request, using its own technicians and fitters, and can arrange maintenance and servicing agreements. See the Aftersales & Spare Parts page.
