Contactless Double-Sided Tape Applicator for Glass
Macari-Fidia Estream applies 6–20 mm double-sided tape to glass without the cutting knife ever touching the panel, so thin or fragile glass is not at risk.
Tape Applicators
The Estream – Special Double Sided Tape Applicator is an innovative solution designed for the precise, automatic application of tape on delicate and lightweight materials. Unlike standard tape applicators, the Estream can apply double sided tape on ultra-thin or fragile papers without causing any curling or damage.
Its revolutionary contactless tape application technology completely eliminates the “banana effect” — the common problem where tape tension causes paper to warp or curl.
The Estream is the ideal choice for industries such as print finishing, packaging, and promotional products, where high-precision application on fragile surfaces is required. It ensures smooth, damage-free tape application with excellent consistency.
In today’s competitive world, fast and accurate tape application is essential. The Estream enhances production speed, reduces material waste, and preserves the integrity of delicate surfaces.
Easy to Integrate:
The Estream is compatible with various existing systems, making it easy to implement in any production environment — whether you’re running large batches or small custom jobs.

The Estream special tape applicator is made by Macari-Fidia (Macari S.r.l.), based in Ciriè near Turin, Italy. The company was founded in 1990 and supplies customers in over 30 countries.
It applies double-sided tape on ultra-thin or fragile paper without curling or damaging it, which standard tape applicators cannot always do. The tape is pre-cut before it is applied, so no tension reaches the sheet. The main Estream page lists the same specifications.
Tape under tension pulls the sheet and bends it, a fault known as the “banana effect”. Estream applies pre-cut tape without contact, so this tension does not build up.
It is meant for ultra-light, thin and sensitive paper. Packaging materials such as fine cardboard and delicate glass surfaces are covered too, and the glass application page explains that case.
The tape is 6 to 20 mm wide, and each application is at least 30 mm long. Keep each application 5 mm or more from the sheet edge and 30 mm or more from the next one. With several applicators working side by side, leave 120 mm between parallel strips.
It works at up to 200 pieces per minute. The figure depends on the format, the paper and the tape length.
It closes envelope flaps and puts tape on posters and point-of-sale material. It also serves packaging, such as e-commerce boxes, and special envelopes for courier and marketing use. See double-sided tape for posters for the poster line.
The Estream is compatible with various existing systems, for large batches and for small custom jobs. Macari-Fidia checks the sheet size, the tape position and the required speed with you before it proposes a layout.
Macari-Fidia publishes no price for the Estream and quotes each project separately, because the configuration follows your requirements. Send your sample, the tape width and length, the sheet size and your production target to [email protected] or use the contact form.
When you ask for it, Macari-Fidia’s own technicians and fitters provide consulting, installation, start-up and staff training at your site. Agreements for maintenance and servicing are available as well; see Aftersales & Spare Parts.
